Preeti Gupta is one such actress who rose to fame very early but was in controversies because of her selection of work. Born on April 27, 1986, Preeti Gupta always aspired to be an actress and her this dream was well supported by her parents. When she turned 19, she landed in Mumbai and started working as a model. She was also auditioning for various roles side by side. She got a big break was she got a role in the famous sitcom of all times ‘Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki.’ She essayed the role of Mayuri Shikhar Mehra. Her this role made her a household name and helped her earn recognition and also more work.

She got a handful of serials after ‘Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki’ ended. She worked in ‘Kaisa Yeh Pyaar Hai’ as Anita Bhasin, Kasturi as Allana and Kavach as Natasha. She also was seen in a small role in the serial ‘Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh.’ After working in all these shows, she took a small break and went on to focus on her dream of acting in films. She went to New York and joined Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. After doing a professional course in acting, she made a comeback in Bollywood. She signed her first film ‘Mere Haule Dost’ that hit the silver screen in 2013. This film failed to make any mark, and Preeti’s work also went unrecognized.

She was them offer the role of Leela in 2014 flick ‘Unfreedom.’ But this flick never got released and was banned. Preeti gave many nude scenes in this movie which were leaked and surfaced all over the internet. These pictures went so viral that ‘Unfreedom’ was banned. Some sources reveal that the film revolved around the topic of homosexuality and Preeti’s character was a lesbian. Preeti was also very vocal about her views on homosexuality that didn’t go well with the audience and invited even more criticism for her. After these two films and especially the controversy, no director-producer offered roles to Preeti. She has been away from the limelight from quite a few years. Recently there was news that she might be a part of a serial in a supporting role, but there is no official confirmation.
