In 2015, she got her hand on to a big Marathi film project called ‘Lokmanya-Ek Yugpurush’ where the actress played a simple role of that of a wife of Lokmanya Tilak (Satyabhama). As the actress was known more for her negative roles, this non-glamorous role of Satyabhama helped her win millions of hearts. Many people couldn’t recognise her in this brand new Avatar as this was a complete transition from her glamorous roles to a Desi role. The film was a hit with a box office collection of Rs 13 crores in just five days. The film got a good response from the audience and also got a standing ovation. Shweta Mahadik was praised well for her role as Lokmanya Tilak’s wife. The actress got warm wishes for her success and is expected to achieve many good and big projects in future.

In an interview when Shweta was asked about her role in Lokmanya, the actress showed her happiness about getting this role and was keener to get more of such roles. She said that she was looking for a change and the role of Satyabhama came as a blessing to her after getting mostly the negative ones.
