Born in Mumbai, Sindhu Tolani was a Fair & Lovely cream model in the north before becoming an actress. Now Tolani works in various languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. Her first role was a minor one in Mohabbatein. Although her first huge hit was a Telugu film called Athanokkade, Sindhu Tolani started her career with another low-budget Telugu film called Aithe.
Even though the film did not fare well at the box office, it got everyone in the industry to notice her. She got nominated for best actress in a supporting role in the SIIMA awards for the movie Ishq in 2012. Manmadhanwas another hit that followed in which she acted opposite Silambarasan. Ever since her two consecutive hits, Tolani has acted in many Kannada and Telugu films. Most recently along Vikram in Majaa. Apart from the silver screens,
Tolani has also acted in a television series called Kutumb which aired on Sony TV. Sindhu Tolani also acted in Mani Ratnam's Tamil stage show Netru, Indru, Naalai. Currently, Tolani is shot in two Telugu films side by side scheduled to release in 2016, called Chitrangda and Dhanalakshmi Talupu Tadithey.
