Krsna Solo is an Indian music composer, songwriter, singer and producer. He was born as Amitav Sarkar on May 15 in Siliguri, West Bengal. Post his schooling in Kolkata; he completed Films Communication at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. He chooses filmmaking because he believes that it can lead him into music. He got inclined to music when he was 12 or 13-years old. He used to join several music competitions. Later on, he shifted to Mumbai to pursue his dream of becoming a musician and began his career as an advertising film director and did audiovisuals. Few years after, he became a musician. Krsna had formal training in Indian and Western classical music and was trained under the guidance of Ustad Mehmood Khan.

His mentor, Jawahar Chavda had helped him in polishing his talent and guided him all the way to his success. Krsna was debuted in the very successful romantic comedy film, Tanu Weds Manu Click to look into! >> Read More... , in 2011. He won the New Music Talent Award at the Filmfare RD Burman Awards and Best New Music Director at Stardust Awards. In 2013, he composed music for the Hindi-Oriya film, Oonga and in Subhash Kapoor’s Hindi courtroom comedy drama film, Jolly LLB. In the same year, he worked in Manish Tiwary’s Isaaq. Krsna composed music for the romantic comedy film, Tamanchey in 2014 and the documentary film, India’s Daughter, in 2015.

The latter was helmed by British filmmaker, Leslee Udwin, and is part of BBC’s Storyville, about the Delhi gang rape in 2012 and the murder of a physiotherapy student. Also in 2015, Krsna teamed up with Tanishk-Vayu in the blockbuster rom-com film, Tanu Weds Manu Returns, a sequel of Tanu Weds Manu. He is the face behind the popular songs like O Sathi Mere, Yun Hi, Rangrez, Da Di Da Da, Rafa Dafa and more. He is also the lyricist of the song, Khamakha from the movie, Tamanchey. Krsna already tried almost all forms of music such as jazz, hip-hop, and RnB, because he believed that there are many types of music, and one should always diversify. He started his record label called Panoctave Music and had launched songs, which he shared on YouTube. He also penned and sang a song entitled Tu Jo Paas Mere, under his label.
