Aarya Ambedkar was born on June 16, 1994. Her birthplace is Nagpur in Maharashtra, India. She was born to Sameer Ambedkar and Shruti Ambedkar. Aarya’s father was a doctor. Her mother was a vocalist by profession. Her grandmother was a classical vocalist. She was the one to recognize Aarya’s talent when she was two years old. She began her formal music training under the guidance of her mother and Guru, Shruti Ambedkar when she was five and a half years old. She took her first music examination when she was in her first grade at the age of 6. Her genre is Indian Classical Music. Aarya auditioned for a competitive music reality show named " Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Marathi L’il Champs" in the year 2008. It was organized by Zee Marathi. She got selected in the top 50 among thousands of children in the ages of 8 to 14 all over Maharashtra.

She was then selected in the top 10 and eventually made her way into the top 5. She was famously referred as the Pretty Young Girl in the program. Aarya sang lots of different songs in the competition. She received full marks many times from the judges and created a record. She set arecord for singing the song "Paan KhaenSaiyyan Hamaro". The record has not been broken by nine schedules of the show "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa". To Pay tribute to the lost lives in the Mumbai Terror Attack, she sang the song "Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo". Lata Mangeshkar sang the song originally after the India-China War in 1962. Aarya was honored with Manik Sharma Scholarship during the period of the program. She is the first youth to win the scholarship.

Aarya has sung for the albums Panch Ratna Vol 1, 2, 3 on Universal Music India, Mala Mhanatyat Aarya Ambedkar, Jai Hari Vitthal, Garjati Sahyadriche Kade. She sang in albums composed by Kaushal Inamdar, Mrs. Varsha Bhave, Yashwant Deo, Khalil Abhyankar and also by famous composer Saleel Kulkarni. She has sung in the Marathi films, "Let’s Go Back", "Balgandharva", " Kali", "Yodhha", "Sant Kaikadi Maharaj", and "Ready Mix". Aarya sang the song "Hamama Re Pora" in the film "Rama Madhav", "Sakhya Re" and "Hur Hur" in the film "Goshta Tichiya Premachi". Aarya made her debut in acting in the film "Ti Saddhya Kay Karte" in 2017 and also sang the songs "Jara Jara Tipur Chandane", "Kitida Navyane Aathavave" and "Hrudayat Vaje Something".
