Megha Bhardwaj

Megha Bhardwaj is an Indian playback singer and songwriter. She was born on 18th December, 1990, in the pink city of Jaipur, Rajasthan. Her father, Dr. Dinesh Chandra Sharma, is a Govt. doctor, while her mother, Mrs. Usha Gour, is a homemaker. Megha attended various educational institutions such as Adarsh Vidyamandir and Mother Memorial in Rajasthan. She studied Fine Arts Music at Maharaja College in 2006. Megha holds a Masters in Music from Rajasthan University in the year 2009.

Apart from her enthusiasm for music, Megha also has an adventurous side to her personality. She was a former state-level hockey player from 2003 to 2007. Unfortunately, she had to call it quits due to a significant leg injury. However, this didn't dim Megha's light, and she rose again to be a part of the RSS and took part in numerous events. Fun fact: Megha underwent training in Formula 1 car racing in 2016.

Megha Bhardwaj's singing took off at the delicate age of 6 when she first recited a poem on the well-renowned Akash Vani. At 8, she sang the country's national song, Vande Mataram, at Bharat Vikas Parishad. Megha was a professional Bhajan singer at 11 years of age. She soon began singing for various film songs during her early teenage years. The "Golden Voice of Rajasthan" in 2006 was a significant breakthrough in Megha's singing journey and opened the gates of Bollywood for her.

Megha received an award for her performance in Ek Shaam Shahido Ke Naam in 2007. She was one of the top ten finalists on Indian Idol season 4. While the audience loved her cover of Dil Ko Karaar Aaya, she proved her merit with the bhajan Achyutam Keshavam. Her cover 'Raatan Lambiyaan' is one of her timeless tunes. Megha's contribution to the music industry gained her recognition of the Jaipur Shiromani Award. Her cover song of 2022's blockbuster film Gangubai Kathiawadi's Meri Jaan got her praises nationwide. Shahib Teri Bandiyaan, Megha's latest release, won her many hearts. Megha does not restrict herself to Bollywood alone. She has experimented with other genres such as RnB, EDM, pop and classical jazz.
