He practiced sound production and sound design for films at the ‘Film School’ for six years and graduated from the ‘Film & Television Institute of India’ (FTII) (1993-1998). Subramanian speaks several languages, including Hindi, English, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Italian, and French. Topping off his sound designer skills is his proficiency in film production, creative direction, and documentaries. Subramanian worked for nine years at ‘Location Sound Corp. Motion Pictures and Film- North Hollywood.’

In 2017, he served as a director at ‘Overtone Audio PVT LTD,’ Mumbai, India, for three years. He was also a part of a miscellaneous crew for the movie Fanny Khan in 2018. Later he opened the production house, Kri Arj Entertainment with Producer Arjun Kapoor (Indian film producer), his business partner. In 2017, Subramanian filmed a series of episodes (four) at ‘Conversations with Aditya Mehta’ on ‘Sudeep Audio’ channel on YouTube; ‘Introduction to Overtone Audio,’ ‘Sync sound recording is an art form too,’ ‘Sync sound work tips & more,’ ‘VS on his FTII days & more.’ He wrote an article based on his journey and its evolution in this field. He writes about all the difficulties he faced and how he was able to cope up.
