Seema Kaushal

Most celebrated for her performances in Punjabi films, Seema Kaushal is an Indian supporting actress who predominantly works in Punjabi and Hindi films. Seema Kaushal was born on 9th March 1965 at Sangrur district in Punjab. She aspired to become a teacher since her father was a teacher. During her school and college days, Seema actively took part in all activities, from sports to drama. After completing her education, Seema got married to Rakesh Kaushal, district sports officer. The couple has a son, Munish Kaushal, and a daughter. After marriage, Seema Kaushal moved to Jalandhar, Punjab, and she became busy with her life as a mother and housewife.

Seema Kaushal started her career in 1991 with All India Radio as a drama artist. She performed over 150 plus plays as a radio artist as well as managing her personal life. She did not limit herself to the radio. With the support of her family members, she eventually forayed into television. She was seen in DD Punjabi serials such as Bhagan Walian and Ek Kehi Rutt Aayi.

In the year 1994, Seema Kaushal was seen in the movie Ucha Pind as Ravinder Mann’s sister. Following her debut, Seema appeared in several Punjabi movies including, Dil Apna Punjabi, Munde U.K. De, Ik Kudi Punjabi Di, Pure Punjabi, Taur Mittran Di, and Carry on Jatta. In 2012, Seema Kaushal entered the Hindi film industry and found instant success. In her first film Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, she impressed the audience as Lata Khurana, which eventually fetched her several offers. Seema Kushal has bagged three Aakashwani Awards and Doordarshan awards for her performance in films and serials.  The actress had a successful run from the radio to television to the big screen. Seema Kaushal’s success didn’t happen overnight. She spent many years waiting for it, and her hard work and patience made her realize it.
