Ajay Paul Singh Andotra

Ajay Paul Singh Andotra is a theatre person, a radio drama artist, and a TV and film actor. Heis from Jammu, which is famous for its scenic beauties and not very known for any actor before his arrival at silver screen. He went to Luthra Academy, Gandhi Nagar till eighth standard. Later he went to Jagriti Niketan till tenth standard (1980 batch). Then, he attended GGM Science College, Akhnoor and belonged to class of 1984 there. True to his zodiac, this Aries (Birthday comes on April 14) personality dons many hats. In 1978, he hit the stage for the first time, and then in 1979 during school performances. He realized his passion and in 1981, he dedicated himself to theater completely. At that time, he started working as Under Secretary at Abhinav Theater, Jammu. He had worked in ‘Jammu Kisska Haath’, ‘Ek Tha Gaddha’, ‘Dilli Uncha Sunti Hai’, ‘Jasma Oddan’, ‘Mahabooj’, ‘Girgit’, ‘Bawa Jitto’, ‘Poster’, ‘Ram Sam Jaadu’, ‘Akhbaar’, ‘Moote Ram Ka Satyagrah’, ‘Arre Mayavi Sarover’, ‘Hatya Ik Aakar Ki’, ‘Doctor Palta’, ‘Muktdharra’ and several other plays. This also gave him a chance to work with eminent directors.

As an approved drama artist, he has also been performing on Radio Kashmir, Jammu since early 90’s. Apart from this, he had also performed in many TV serials and films which had been telecasted on Doordarshan’s regional channels like DD Kashmir, DD Jammu and DD Jalandhar. It is interesting to know that he is an approved actor by Jammu Doordarshan Kendra for Hindustani and Dogri languages and therefore is associated with DADAA (Doordarshan Approved Drama Artists Association), Jammu.

His first commercial feature film was ‘Kuggi Maar Duaari’ which was released in Dec 2011. The movie was in Dogri language which is spoken mainly in Jammu, northern Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. He has performed the role of ‘Mantri Lakshman Das’ in the TV serial ‘Jodah Akbar’ which has been telecasted on Zee TV as well as Geo Kahani since June 2013. In between, he had also worked for the TV serial ‘ Ramayan’ which was telecasted on Zee TV from Aug 2012 to Sep 2013. He has also briefly worked in two short films. One of them is ‘GAA’ a shortened form of ‘Gandhi Ki Azadi Ab’ and another is still untitled. Ajay has also appeared in commercial TV advertisements of Titan watches and Domino Pizzas.

This multilingual actor (knows Dogri, Punjabi, Hindi, English) has also worked as a medical sales professional for ‘Group Pharmaceuticals Limited’ and ‘GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Limited’. He is currently associated with ‘Xenium Biocorp’.
