Amiya Kashyap was born on 25 January 1980, in Bihar, India. His parents are Basuki Nath Singh and Shanti Singh. His Father was a retired School Principal, and his mother was a school teacher. He completed his graduation from B.N. College Patna. Later, Kahyap moved to Moti Lal Nehru College University for doing his higher studies.

He also completed his Diploma in Dramatic Arts in HCRFTR, Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. Also from Prayag Sangit, he completed his Diploma in Vocal in Allahabad. Amiya started his career by working on several shows such as Rihaee, Kumkum, Haqueeqatra and some more shows. Haqeeqat was an Indian drama that was telecast in Sahara TV which now renamed as Sahara One. The entire Conception of the story is how man violated his human rights against another human or how the rights being violated by the policeman. The show was the first one to have the highest TRP rating among the audience with eight points in 2001.

The show received several awards such as Best Direction by 27th RAPA Awards for the year 2001 as well as 2002. It also received the Best Nonfiction Program for the year 2002. Indian Telly Awards Awarded Haqeeqat’s director for his best Direction and Screenplay Writer for the year 2002. Rihaee is another Indian Television Series based on the Crime stories telecasted on Sony TV from February 9, 2005. The show revolves around the illegal and crime activities against women in the society. KumKum is an Indian Television Show telecast in STAR Plus Channel, one of the longest running serials in India with about 1449 episodes.

By the year 2003 he worked for several Tele-films such as Raja Mordhwaj, Shiv Vivah, Krishna Sudama and Bhakt Prahlad. Also by the year 2005, he joined hands with Kuttighosh for the direction of Bhojpuri movie Chauki. By the year 2006, he joined hand with Ajay Mishra for the making of the plot play Manwa Ke Meet. He also worked with some of the Bollywood cinemas like Vaastu Shastra in the year 2004. The cinema was also redirected in Telugu in the name as Marri Chettu. .By 2016, He contributed in two films namely Gulmohar and Jat- Jatin. Besides acting, Kashyap is the State President of Bhartiya Janta TV. & Cine Kaamgar Sangh, situated in Bihar.
