Akanksha Gilani

Akanksha Gilani is an Indian actress. She was born in Mumbai. She did a lot of theater before moving to silver screen. This talented lass who is still in her thirties, has also done quite a few Hindi and Gujrati commercial plays. She started her career in TV industry with a TV series named, ‘Bandhan Sath Janamo Ka’, which ran from July 2008 to June 2009 on Colors TV. Next she appeared in ‘ Shubh Kadam’, wherein she played the character of negative spirit named ‘Manyata’. The role was of second lead in the serial which was telecasted on Sahara One from Feb to Sep 2009.

Later she performed the role of ‘Chatori’ in a TV series ‘ Jamunia’, which was produced by Mumbai center of Doordharshan and was aired on DD National or DD1. In 2009, she joined the crew of TV serial ‘ Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo’ for the role of ‘Fhulmatia’. This TV series ran on Zee TV from March 2009 to Feb 2011. She then, donned the role of ‘ Archana’ who was the daughter of lead character ‘Vallab Vyas’ in the TV serial, named, ‘ Paap Punya Ka Lekha Jokha’, aired on DD National.

From Feb 2012, she played the role of the daughter of the protagonist (played by the noted actor ‘ Anang Desai’) in the TV serial, titled, “Yeh Zindagi Hai Gulshan’, running on DD1. She also played the role of ‘ Pihu Click to look into! >> Read More... ’, in the TV serial, titled, ‘ Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke’, which ran on Zee TV from May 2012 to January 2015.

Apart from this, she also has brief appearances in various TV serials. She has appeared on CID (running on Zee TV since Jan 1998), Adaalat (ran on Sony TV from Nov 2010 to 2015), F.I.R (ran on SAB TV from July 2006 to January 2015) and Haunted Nights (ran on Sahara One from Feb 2012 to Aug 2013). Akanksha has also done TV commercials for many companies which include Whisper, Montage, Nokia Montage, and KFC and Ideal Ice Cream. She also did print advertisements for credit card, sarees, kaftans, Mid day and Mall Print.

She debuted into Bollywood with the movie, ‘Rama Rama Kya Hai Drama’, which was released in Jan 2008. She did a significant role in another movie, ‘ The Perfect Girl’.
