Indira Krishnan is an Indian television actress and model of South Indian origins. She was initially an air hostess - but even at that time, she had respected and adored the performing arts causing her to test the waters in entertainment. Krishnaben Khakhrawal was enjoyed by the general public, even praised for its positive message in a speech by Narendra Damodardas Modi, then-Chief Minister of Gujarat. The series was centered around a strong, outspoken and humorous Gujarati widow trying to bring up her children without a father at the same time managing a khakhra-selling business from home. The character of Krishnaben was particularly lauded along with the positive moral of the show.

After the end of Krishnaben Khakhrawala, she didn’t find the roles offered to her appealing, which made her decide she needed to keep herself occupied. So, she began to follow a stringent regimen - going to the gym, walking, doing yoga and solely eating food made at home.
