Jayantika Sengupta is a popular, talented, young and upcoming actress who is seen appearing Hindi television serial and Hindi movies. Jayantika Sengupta belongs from West Bengal and hails from a middle class Bengali family and moved to Mumbai, Maharashtra with her family at an early age. She grew and completed her studies from Mumbai and decided to focus on her academic career and started with a job. Though Jayantika was good at studies and had a bright career ahead, she decided to give preference and pursue her ultimate passion and follow her heart which was acting. She shot her portfolio and started to appear for various audition. Ultimately, Jayantika got the opportunity to feature in one of the Zee TV’s reality dancing and singing show Ek Se Badhkar Ek which was hosted by famous Bhojpuri and Hindi actor . In this show, one singer and one dancer made a pair and the competition was held between many such pairs. Jayantika was selected to appear as a dancer in one of the Jodis. After she was eliminated early, she also co-hosted the show along with Ravi Kishen for few episodes. Next she was approached by Star Plus and producers of the ambitious and India’s most expensive television serial Mahabharata and after undergoing many rigorous auditioning process Jayantika was selected to play the role of Arshi, who was related to Shakuni. Jayantika in her small role in the series garnered audience’s attention and earned appreciation for her role. Jayantika Sengupta will be next seen on a Hindi movie Rajdhani Awadh which slated for an early 2015 release.
