Before making her debut in Hindi movies, she even tried her luck in Malayalam movies and had a chance to act with Mohanlal. In the year 2003, she also acted in the TV serial, ‘Kahiin to Hoga', where she played the character of Charu Sinha. This serial was crafted by Ekta Kapoor and ran for four years. Though Mitra Joshi has a unique talent and good looks, she did not get any better roles in movies. She was a glam doll in B-town and perhaps had not been too lucky to reach the spot, which she had dreamt in her career.

Nevertheless, her role in Balaji Telefilms TV serial, ‘Kahiin to Hoga', was undoubtedly her best part in her career. In the year 2007, she also acted in a Hindi movie, which was a movie by Rati Agnihotri, and it was titled, ‘Aisa Kyon Hota Hai’. The actress is no more visible in any TV shows or in any Bollywood movies.
