Kanan Gill

Kanan Gill was born on December 24,th 1989 in Bengaluru (Bangalore), Karnataka, India. He is 27 years old. He started his career and entered the industry in the year 2013. By profession, he is an actor, YouTuber and a Stand-up comedian. He was never serious about entering this field.

As he is from Bengaluru, he was brought up over there only. He did his schooling from 2 schools; one was Ahlcon Public School and the after that he shifted to Frank Anthony Public School. After completing his schooling, he did his graduation from M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology in B.E. Computer Science. During his college graduation days, he used to be a part of his college band, where he got the exposure to writing “Funny Songs” and after that became the lead singer of the band.

He has also starred in the second season of “On Air With AIB” released on the “Hotstar App” in Marc 2017 with the whole team of comedy group “AIB” (All India Bakchod).

After he had completed his graduation, he started working with Exeter Group Inc. as a Software Engineer. He worked over there for three years, and while working with them, he used to participate in various “Open Mics” where new coming comedians used to explore their talents and increase their confidence and comic timing. One such open mic was “Punchline Bangalore” competition which he won. Then he went to Mumbai for a competition named “Comedy Store” where he performed very well and win it quite gracefully. After knowing and exploring his real talents, he started his YouTube comic series names “Pretentious Movie Reviews.” Here he used to give reviews of various movies by making sketches in comic ways in association with comedian and YouTuber Biswa Kalyan Rath.

Some of the movies for which the duo gave the reviews were “ Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge Click to look into! >> Read More... ,” “ Gunda Click to look into! >> Read More... ,” “Hum Saath Saath Hain,” “Prem Agan,” “Aap Ka Suroor.” Etc. He also did a commercial series for the matrimonial site “Shadi.com.” Then he worked for “Comedy Central” T.V. Channel for the series named “The Living Room” with Kenneth Sebastian which was a comedy show with improvised sketches. He also made the “YouTube Comedy Hunt” successful and also had been hosting the “YouTube Fan Fest” from quite a long time now where various popular Indian and International YouTubers come and perform in Mumbai.
