Shekar Naik is an Indian cricketer. He is the Captain of the Indian Cricket Blind Cricket team. Shekhar is a batsman and wicketkeeper. He was considered a man of the tournament in the world cup of 2006. The team won the world cup 2014 in South Africa. Naik was born on 7 April 1986 in Shimoga, Karnataka. His full name is Lachma Shekhar Naik. Shekhar had learned Cricket in School. He had also worked in NGO named Samarthanam as a sports coordinator. Shekar Naik had drafted into the Karnataka team when he scored 136 runs in 46 balls. Shekhar scored 134 runs in 58 balls at the T20 world cup 2012. He is the first Blind Cricketer honored with Padma Shri Award.
