Vinod Prabhakar

Vinod Prabhakar is one of the three children from Tiger Prabhakar’s first marriage to Alphonza Mary. Following his father’s footprints, he too joined the Kannada film industry, and since then he has acted in various films. One of his early films was in 2005 with the film ‘Tadipaar’, in which he was casted alongside Charanraj and Bhavya. It was directed by S. S. Following this, he did two more films in the year of 2007, which were Vip 5 and Circle Rowdy. However, he first tasted success with the release of his 2008 film, ‘Navagraha’, directed by Dinakar and starring Darshan and Sharmila Mandre, along with him. A heist film showcasing 9 actors, all sons of famous Kannada villains, representing the nine planets in a negative light and their quest to steal the golden howdah from the Mysore palace, Navagraha ran for 125 days.

Post his success, he was seen in movies such as ‘Hori’ (2011), ‘Gajendra’ (2013), ‘ Belli Click to look into! >> Read More... ’ (2014), ‘Vairi’ (2014), and most recently, ‘ Tyson Click to look into! >> Read More... ’ (2016). Directed by K. Ramnarayan and produced by T. Baby Reddy, the Vinod and Gayathri starrer was about the trials and the tribulations of the protagonist in the process of becoming a police officer. It bagged a lot of applause and laurels, including the Shreshta Nata Award by the Chitra Rasikara Sangha. Although Vinod is yet to find a firm foothold in Sandalwood, he is a much-discussed celebrity figure with a penchant for controversy, be it claiming that his late father, Tiger, didn’t get good opportunities, because he was a Christian, or rumors regarding him being in a relationship with industrialist Sharath Kumar’s wife, Shwetha.

Apart from Kannada films, Vinod also debuted in Kollywood in 2008 with the Tamil film, ‘Paalai’, which was directed by A. C. Shivananda and produced by M. Selvaraj under the banner of SRS Cine Arts.
