Pravin Godkhindi

Pravin Godkhindi is an Indian flute player who masters Hindustani style of music. He was born on 28 of October in Dharwad, Karnataka. He is the son of Pandit Venkatesh Godkhindi and Padmaja. Pravin had his primary education from Dharwad itself. Then he did electrical engineering from the SDM College of Engineering and Technology, Dharwad. Pravin is the master in both traditional as well as contemporary Hindustani music. He started learning music at the very young age of three from his father Pt Venkatesh Godkhindi, who is the flute maestro, singer, and a radio artist. He has served for all India radio in stations of Dharwad, Goa, Delhi, Mangalore, and Hyderabad. Beside Gayaki style, Pravin has also mastered Thankari style which he has learned from his father after the years of practice.

Pravin makes the experiment by fusing traditional music with western music which was appreciated. He has performed many concerts in India as well as abroad. Pravin is playing a vital role in promoting the Indian classical music all over the world. He played flute with his son Shadaj Godkhindi and father Pt Venkatesh Godkhindi in a concert name "3 generations" was a great success and was praised all over the globe, it was the huge attraction for people who loved flute. He has presented his flute performance at World Flutes Festival at Mendoza, Argentina in 2010.
