Vaidehi is an Indian writer who worked for the Kannada film industry. She was born on 12th February 1945 in Khundapur, Udupi, Karnataka. Vaidehi is one of the most famous writers in the Kannada language who also received many prestigious state and national level awards. For her collection of short stories Krauncha Pakshigalu in 2009, she received Sahitya Akademi Award.
Vaidehi completed her graduation degree in commerce from the Bhandarkar College in Kundapura. She won many awards like the Sahitya Akademi Awards in 2009, the Katha Award in 1992 and 1997, the Anupama Awards in 1993, Daana Chintamani Attimabbe Awards in 1997 by the Government of Karnataka, and many others.
