Rudraksh Sudheesh Nair, famously known as Master Rudraksh, is a well-known child artist from the Malayalam film industry. He got into the limelight with his performance in Sidharth Siva’s 2016 film Kochavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho, which is partly inspired by the much acclaimed, bestseller novel The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho Paulo Coelho is a Brazilian novelist born on augus >> Read More... . The young actor received instant stardom striking a chord with the audience with his commendable performance in the film.

He played the role of Ayappa Das. Rudraksh is the elder of the two sons of the popular Malayalam cine-actor Sudheesh and Dhanya. He was born in 2006. He was 10 when he acted in his first movie. His then 1-year old brother Madhav played his infant version in the film. His grandfather late Sudhakaran Nair was also associated with the film industry and acted in a couple of films.

Little Rudraksh seems to be taking forward the acting legacy quite well as yet. He stays in Kozhikode, just next to Bilathikulam temple to be more exact. Sudheesh’ close friend Sidharth took Rudraksh for the film on one condition: he had to learn swimming, as it was essential for the part that he played. So, the boy started to take swimming lessons in a nearby pool and being a diligent student, learned it quite well in three months’ time. Coincidentally enough, even Sudheesh had to learn swimming for his first film 30 years ago under the direction of Adoor Gopalakrishnan.

Rudraksh has also been a meritorious student at school as reported by his teachers. He has received constant support from his teachers and schoolmates in all his endeavors. In fact, his real debut was in the several dances and dramas he enacted in his school’s cultural programs.

He has also played a brief role in his grandpa’s last play before his demise. The shooting of Kochavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho was done in Bangalore, Pollachi, Adimaly, Thiruvananthapuram, and Perumbavoor. While shooting in Perumbavoor, something frightful happened.

Once Rudraksh and his co-child actor AbeniAadhi were larking about in the forest, and Rudraksh got bitten by a snake. On being taken to a nearby hospital, the doctors couldn’t diagnose the problem. Finally, after several blood tests, the crew members heaved a sigh of relief as the doctors found no venom in the bloodstream. Owing to his coming from a cinema family, Rudraksh barely had any trouble facing the camera for the first time.

Despite some initial technical snags, the shoot, accompanied by the added support from the team that included the producer of the movie KunchackoBoban himself, was all child’s play (which it was, literally) for him. He aspires to be a professional actor once he finishes his studies.
