Rajeev Rangan

Rajeev Rangan is a famous Malayalam film director, producer, actor, a dubbing artist and a singer hailing from Trivandrum, India. Apart from all these, he is also a gemologist, not many are aware of it, though. Currently, he lives in Kochi, India. He did his schooling from Sree Moola Vilasam High School, Thiruvananthapuram. Later, he chose art stream and studied at the Government Arts College. His love for movies was right since the college days. He was also interested in the background working of a movie direction. In 1977, he joined and started actively working for film and television media. He has not only acted on small screen but also on the big screen. He has done a lot of character roles, commercials, short films, serials and print advertisements.

He is also a popular personality for the TV audience. After acting, he started to enhance and develop his love and passion for singing and was known as a professional singer in the industry. Even today he is known for his talent and beautiful mesmerizing voice. Some of his songs include : ‘Kuyilinte Mani Naadam’, ‘PuliyilaKarayolum’, ‘Dilruba’, ‘Malarkodipolae’, ‘NilaveVaa’, ‘Ammayendrazhakkaatha’, ‘Rakshaka’, ‘Chandra Kalabham’, ‘Devanganagal’, etc. Out of these, ‘Malarkodipolae’ and ‘Chandra Kalabhamare’ considered as the most evergreen hit songs by him.

Everyone has a “dream come true” moment at least once in their life. This movie direction was his dream come true moment. And as clichéas it may sound, dreams do come true! This movie was about a child experiencing and miserably suffering from Down's syndrome. Rajeev was very positive about this movie’s direction as he has worked before for the improvement of the differently- abled children. With a lot of close interactions with them, he was able to do justice and encourage our Indian society to treat such children like the normal ones. He believes that this movie is for a cause- to spread a beautiful message. He has won a lot of awards and recognitions for his work and contributions, especially as a singer. In 2016, Rajeev was also a part of the horror and thriller film called “168 hours” where the story revolves around a married couple.
