Manoj K. Jayan

Manoj Kadampoothramadam Jayan is a South-Indian actor, born on 15 March 1966 in an Ezhava family. His father, Sruthiyil K.G. Jayan, is a famous Carnatic musician, whereas his mother works as a teacher. He completed his schooling from the Government College, Nattika. Apart from this, his 2009 hit film ‘Pazhassi Raja’ won him a total of ten awards (Kerala State Film Award, Film Fare Award, Ujala Asianet Award, Exo Mathrubhumi Amrita Film Award, SathyanSmaraka Award, Amma Award Dubai, Mumbai Malayalam Film Award, JaiHind TV Award, South Scope Cine Award, and the Bharath Murali Award). In his career, the forty-nine-year-old actor has acted in four television serials, more than hundred Malayalam films, about twenty Tamil films, five Telugu films, and one film each in Hindi and Kannada. Interestingly, he has also done playback singing for five films/albums, the first one being ‘Ayyappatheertham’. He has also been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for his over twenty-five years of contribution to the film fraternity.

He tied the knot with actress Urvashi in the year 2000 and had their first daughter named Tejalakshmi in 2001. However, the marriage was terminated by a divorce in 2008. Manoj has a son named Amrit from his second marriage with Asha, whom he married in 2009.
