Nadir Shah is an Indian artist. He is famous for Mimicry, Comedy, Singing, Acting and Direction in Malayalam movies. He is also a Television Host, Music Composer and Lyricist. He was born in Kochi in Kerala. He started his career as an actor in the 1992 film ‘Kasargod Khader Bhai’. This was followed with movies like ‘Manathe Kottaram’ released in the year 1994 and also ‘Ezharakoottam’ in the year 1995. Once his acting career started to flourish, he began experimenting with his other talents like Playback Singing and Writing Lyrics for various Malayalam movies. He lent his voice for the movie ‘Ennethedi ... Maanchiyam’ as a playback singer in the year 1996 followed by ‘Manjaadikkunnile Praave ... Meenakshikkalyaanam’ in the year 1998 and ‘Aa Maalaninakkaanu ... Korappan The Great’ released in the year 2001, where he also debuted as a lyricist.

He is also known for composing the song ‘Manjaadikkunnile Praave’ from the film ‘ Meenakshi Kalyanam Meenakshi Kalyanam is a Malayalam television seria >> Read More... ’ released in the year 1998. He went on to compose around six melodious songs for the movie. He has created the Kalabhavan, which happens to be the pioneer in Organised Mimicry Associations. In the year 2015, he has stepped into the field of direction with the movie ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ and was appreciated for his acting skills. Nadir is a short-tempered man as he has an eye for perfection and anything less than perfect makes his temper rise. He is married to Shahina in the year 1998 on 12th April. The couple is happily married and has two daughters named Ayisha and Khadeeja.

Nadir Shah is a famous personality in the Malayalam film industry. His contribution to music is well known. With Amar Akbar Anthony, he has also markedhis debut as a director. 

As an actor, he has starred in a side role for various big projects including My Dear Kuttichathan (1997) which is India’s first 3D film. There was also Ezharakkoottam, The Good Boys and in recent years To-Let Ambadi Talkies that he has acted in.

His music credits go quite long. He had first composed songs for Meenakshi Kalyanam (1998). Three albums later it was the hit film Sringaravelan (2013) in which he had composed, written and sung the “Machaane” song. Apart from his compositions, he has also written and sung for other’s compositions. He was the lyricist and playback singer for four songs in Korappan the Great (2001)

His hosting ability comes from the various stage shows he has done in the past. Nadir shah used to juggle through TV, stage plays, acting, singing and writing before it was time to put the director’s hat.

In 2015, his first directorial debut, Amar Akbar Anthony was released.  The movie has Prithviraj, Jayasuriya and Indrajith in the lead roles and the story revolved around three friends and their trials through various situations. Though being a comedy film, Nadir shah was appreciated for bringing freshness in the comedy. The film was a box office success and was a big boost to his popularity.

Starting as a mimicry artist at the age of 16, Nadir shah was attached to his stage career for a long time. He was brilliant with parodies and mimicry. He became well-known in the film industry and started getting directorial offers. He started looking for a perfect story for his directorial debut from 2007-08. His search ended when he read the script for Amar Akbar Anthony.

He married Shahina on 12 April 1998. He has two daughters- Ayisha and Khadeeja.
