N J Nandini

NJ Nandini is an Indian musician, who was born on August 5th, 1991. She was a young music vocalist from Trivandrum, Kerala. The year 2014 was a successful year for Nandni, who went to become the young face of Indian classical music in the city. She was honored with the Chembai Puraskaram, and later by the Isai Chudai award and the MS Subhalakshmi fellowship.

She comes from a family with a rich musical heritage. Nandni has become mature over the years, by her gurus, Professor Parassala Ponnammal, Professor PR Kumarakerala Varma, Dr. S Bhagyalakshmi, and Dr. MN Moorthy. She performed in more than 700 concerts within India and abroad.

Nandni was fortunate enough to take birth in a musical family with some popular musicians of their times. Her grandfather was a famous musician named Vechoor N Hariharasubramania Iyer. Her parents are C Neelakantan and S Jayanthi. They made sure that Nandini gets the best training and make sure that she listens to all the concerts around the city.

Her brother, NJ Nandagopal is a Chartered Accountant by profession. He is a singer and mridangi player as well also matured her talents in a good way. Her parents recognized her talent when Nandini was three years old. She began identifying ragas and started singing small rhymes. Nandini secured the 1st Rank in her intermediate and did her graduation with B.com in private study. Nandini is currently completing a Ph.D. In Music.
