"Jayaprakash Kuloor is one of the skillful and talented writers of the Malayalam film industry. He showcased his talents first as a dramatist on the Malayalam drama stage. Along with being a writer, he has also been an actor and has acted in more than ten movies. His hometown is Kozhikode, Kerala. Kuloor was born in the year 1952 and is 67 years (2019). He completed his middle schooling at St. Joseph's Boys' High School in the year 1967. After that, he completed his high schooling at Malabar Christian College in the year 1969. He completed his graduation from St. Joseph's College, Devagiri, in the year 1972 with a Bachelor’s degree in Botany. From there, he moved to Government Law College, Kozhikode.

From there he holds a degree in law, and he has also practiced a career as a Lawyer. He is married to Anupama Kuloor and has two children with her namely Namrata and Ramakrishnan. First, Kuloor ventured into writing Malayalam stage dramas. He has written many famous and critically acclaimed Malayalam dramas like Bommakolu, Apunni Radio, Appunni Tomorrow, Kumaravilapa, Quack-Quack, and Eighteen Plays or 18 Natakangal. It was because of 18 Natakangal, Jayaprakash Kuloor won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in the year 2008. In was in the year 2001 that Kuloor worked first in the Mollywood as a writer. Vakkaalaththu Narayanankutty was the first movie written by Kuloor. The movie received an average reception among the audience.

Aidu Ondala Aidu was the next movie in which Kuloor worked. In this movie, he was the screenwriter and the dialogue writer and it was released in the year 2010. Aidondla Aidu was the next movie where Kuloor worked as a screenwriter. It was released in the year 2011. Poppins was a movie which was based on the playbook 18 Natakangal, and here Kuloor personally overlooked the film’s dialogue writing. This movie was released in the year 2012. Afterwards, Kuloor focused more on his drama writing while occasionally appearing on the screen for smaller roles. Annayum Rasoolum was the first movie where he performed his onscreen debut which released in 2013. The last movie where Kuloor appeared was Athiran, which released in 2019. He also appeared in the movie Kaattu Vithachavar in the year 2018. "
