The film industry is a colourful world, but to make an entry and withstanding there is a complex task. The competition and the pressure need to be balanced. To keep ourselves intact with the industry, we have to prove our talent at every instance possible. The same thing happened in the case of P. Balachandran. He didn't come and settle in the industry just like that. With the constant efforts, not just in the cinematic field, but also in the literary field, he made his place remarkable in the Malayalam film industry.

Padmanabhan Balachandran Nair is famously known to the Malayalam film industry and the Kerala people as P. Balachandran, was born on February 2, 1952, in the Sasthamkotta area of Kollam district in Kerala, India. His parents were Padmanabha Pillai and Saraswati Bhai. He studied MA in the Malayalam language in Kerala University. Then, he studied Bachelors of Theater Arts. At the very beginning of his career, he was a lecturer in the School of Letters, MG University, in the district of Kottayam, Kerala State.P. Balachandran married Sreelatha, and they had two children, Sreekanth and Parvathy.

It is worth knowing about   P. Balachandran's background. He never did any favours for any person in the industry. He came with his hard work. At first, he used to write some plays. Some of his notable works are Pavam Usman, ‘Mayaseethankam’, etc. He became famous for the acts and later made a collection of one-act plays called ‘Makudi’. Soon, he also directed some plays and received a good response. Some of his best-directed films include ‘Ekaki’, Oru Madhyavenal Prenaya Ravi, Theatre Therapy, etc.

As usual, most of the successful directors of the stage plays in the Indian film industry tried their hand at directing the movies in their respective languages; P. Balachandran too did the same thing. After a reasonable response for all self-written and self-directed plays, he worked as a screenwriter, actor, and director for many hit movies in Malayalam.

In the 1996 movie, ‘Agnidevan’, directed by Venu Nagavalli, P. Balachandran is the scriptwriter as well as an actor. He appeared in the role of Edakka and acted along with ' Mohanlal Mohan Lal is the Super Star of the Malayalam film >> Read More... ', ' Revathi Karan, an easy-going 25-year-old party animal livi >> Read More... ' , etc. In another film, ‘Punaradhivasam’, he worked as the scriptwriter. Nandita Das Nandita Das is an actress and director extremely p >> Read More... and 'Manoj K Jayan', along with others starred in the movie and gave an outstanding cooperation to make the flick a hit. This flick won few state and national awards, which include National Film Award for Best Feature Film, Kerala State Film Award for Best Story, etc. His filmography is too long, because of his long-standing years in the industry. Some of them are ‘Uncle Bun’, ‘Vakkalathu Narayanankutty’, and ‘ Shivam Click to look into! >> Read More... ’. He won the Kerala State Award for Second Best Film for the 2012, Ivan Megharoopan.
