Rohit Pawar is not only the CEO of Baramati Agro but also a politician. Since October 2019, Rohit Pawar has served as MLA for the Karjat-Jamkhed constituency. He is dedicated to making Maharashtra a better place by offering opportunities, platforms, and environments for young people to realize their goals. During the 2018-19 fiscal year, he served as President of the Indian Sugar Mills Association. He contested for and won Zila Parishad elections in Shirsufal, Baramati Taluka, Pune, in 2017. Since infancy, Rohit Pawar has been attracted by constructive politics.

With a strong desire to work for the welfare of the people, he decided to join active politics in Maharashtra to become a productive member of society. He wants to give young people the best job and business chances possible. The establishment of the 'Karjat-Jamkhed Integrated Development Foundation' is one such Endeavour with this aim. With the help of the communities, people and government agencies, this foundation was founded for the long-term development of Karjat and Jamkhed. KJIDF works in all the developmental spheres of life like Agriculture, Environment, Livelihood, Skill Development, Women Empowerment, Health, Education, Arts and Culture, Youth Development, Sports, Disaster Relief, and Social Awakening and so on.

This would create a vast platform for employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for the local kids and women. Mrs. Sunandatai, Rohit's mother, is a self-made businesswoman and social activist who has dedicated her life to women's liberation. Sunandatai is the creator of the Bhimthadi jatra, an event that employs hundreds of self-help organizations and women. Rajendra D Pawar, Rohit's father, is an agriculturist and socialist who is carrying on his father's work with the 'Agriculture Development Trust and Baramati Agro Ltd. Dr. Appasaheb Pawar, his father, started both. Rohit Pawar is attempting to carry on his ancestor's legacy.
