Lalita Deulkar

Lalita Deulkar, also known as Lalita Phadke, was a Marathi singer and actress who gained fame in the 1940s through her work in playback music. She was apparently born in 1925 on Lalita Panchami day, which is probably where she got her name from. It is said that she had a great voice and an affinity for singing since she was young. Due to the dire financial status of her family, her father reluctantly allowed her to pursue a career in acting and singing to support them. She began her career as a playback singer in 1943, where she offered the vocals for a solo and a duet song for the film ‘Angoothi’. She became wildly successful in this field and worked with notable artists like S. D. Burman, C.
