Gopinath Chandran popularly called as Gopinath is an Indian television artist. He was a popular television anchor, well acclaimed radio jockey, a vociferous news reader, a voracious reporter, a gifted writer and an illustrated anchor. He was born on July 16th 1975 at Aranthangi, in Tamil Nadu to Chandran and Kumudham Chandran. He had his education in Tamil Nadu. Even in his school days, he was a notable figure.
Gopinath began  his vocation in 2002 with Raj Television Network.
He also parallely worked as reporter for Jaya TV. He got national attention while working with medias NDTV and CNBC-TV-18. One of his notable performance during that time was the Vijay TV debate programme “ Makkal Yaar Pakkam Makkal Yaar Pakkam was a Tamil TV show which aired >> Read More... . It was widely acknowledged for the seriousness and relevance of the topics it handled. Other notable programmes were “Nadanthadhu enna” & “Sigaraam Thotta Manithargaal and En Desaam! En Makkaal” in 2013.
 His performance  in the movie “Poovellam Un Vasam” in which, he portrayed dullness of city life brought him much adulation. He was also an excellent radio jockey at Radio City, anchoring programmes like “City  Space” with RJ Aarthi. He is a well acclaimed author too. He has written four books. His debut entry was in 2007 by publishing a collection of poems under “Theruvellam Devathaigal”.
It was followed by a classic personality enhancement book “ Please Indha Puthagathai Vaangatheenga”. It was a colossal success. Multi tasker, born in Aranthangi, Pudukkottai District, Tamil Nadu to parents Chandran and Kumudggham Chandran in 1975, Gopi Nath Chandran has taken years to work himself in a way where he has achieved positions which become a life goal for many. He is an Indian television anchor, radio jockey, reporter, journalist, news presenter/moderator, entrepreneur, and a writer.

He performs the role of a mediator in the famous debate show “Neeya Naana” on ‘Star Vijay’ channel since 2006 and is thus famously known as “Neeya Naana Gopi Nath.” This show also earned him his nickname “coat gobi” because of the attire he wears during the debate. This popular Gobi started his career as early as 1997 with United Television.

He later in life switched to Raj television network and went on do assignments for some of the biggest names in journalism, such as NDTV, Jaya TV, CNBC TV-18 before joining Vijay TV anchoring their successful political analysis show “Makkal Yaar Pakkam” which discussed elections and the centre and state politics and did an in-depth dissection of the current political state of the country.

He has worked as an anchor for other television series named “Nadanthadhu Enna?” , “Sigaram thotta Manidargal” and “En Desam! En Makkal” as well. He also did a small stint as a Radio Jockey (RJ), hosting and entertaining listeners through his breakfast shows at ‘Radio City.’ The multi-talented Gobi has even published six books until now, becoming an acclaimed writer as well.

His first book “Theruvellam Devathaigal,” a collection of poems, was published in 2008 and in the same year his highest sold book “Please indha Puthagathai vaangatheenga” was published too. The book based on personality development is still topping the charts, selling more than 4 lakh copies to date. The third book was a self-motivating and self-analyzing book called “Neeyum Naanum,” published in 2010. The fourth book was a collection of interviews called “Ner Ner Thema,” published in 2012 while his recent book “Nimirnthu Nir” first got featured in Tamil Weekly and then later was published properly in 2015.

In an interview, he is seen quoting that of all his works “Password” that discusses the wisdom of life, published in 2014 is the closest to his heart. Apart from this, he has written a series of articles about motivation and life called “Neeyum Naanum” in Ananda Viketan. There are a series of awards and honors on Gobi’s name as he to be an inspiration and mentor for the young generation.
