Vanchinathan is a well-known Indian filmmaker and cinematographer who predominantly works in the Tamil film industry. Fluent in almost six different languages, he has worked for TV commercials, feature films, documentaries and, fine art film photoshoots. In 2017, he led the photography department for the emerging director Nova's Namma Kadha. His achievements include directing two international documentaries (Mangus- Norway and Just Extension- US). Additionally, he also volunteered as an associate cinematographer for Hindi feature films like Agneepath, Aakhrosh and a Tamil film called Dhuruvangal Padhinaaru.
Vanchinathan's short film titled Meelpaarvai was bestowed with six awards at Bangalore short film festival. Another short film titled The Surreal was selected for the premiere at the grand Cannes International Film Festival in 2014 and acquired a special mention award at Kolkata International Film Festival. His cinematic pursuit led him to win the honour of the best short film at Norway Tamil film festival for his short film Dukkan.
