Shaman Mithru

Shaman Minthru is a Tamil actor, producer, and cinematographer. He ventured into the movie industry with Ethiri En 3, a Tamil thriller, where he handled the cinematography for the first time. Later in 2019, he made his acting debut in Thorati, a romantic drama movie directed by Marimuthu, highlighting the rural and rustic lifestyle, where he bagged the lead role alongside actor Sathya Kala.

He also bore the production cost of the movie. Born in Thuckalay, a town in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, Mithru admittedly had a love for good cinemas since his childhood. He believes in the execution of poignant films and claims his becoming an actor had more to do with luck than anything else.

His debut as an actor and producer in Thorati took him to heights. Thorati is inspired by a real-life story of shepherds. The entire movie cast was into a workshop to play the roles, naturally. Shaman had never planned to become an actor. However, as he was impressed with the script by Marimuthu, he accepted to play the lead role in the movie. The film grabbed the attention of the critics, and it entered into many international film festivals and received accolades. He produced the film under the banner Shaman Pictures. Shaman Mithru is married and has a daughter. In 2021, Shaman was infected by the coronavirus and was getting treatment. Unfortunately, his health started deteriorating, and he died on 17^th June 2021.  He was just 43.
