Kalanjiyam

Kalanjiyam is an award winning director. He has directed many Tamil movies. He debuted with the film, 'Poomani' which released in 1996. It had Murali and the actress Devayani who were cast as lead characters for it. After the success of the first, Kalanjiyam made his second named 'Kizhakkum Merkkum' which hit the theaters in 1998. The story is about Suryamurthy and Thriller, they are siblings and their step-mother drives them out from her home.

They help each other to face all the problems and grow up to earn a proper living. Suryamurthy tries to find a good husband for her sister. He comes across Kathalingam who is from a neighbouring village. He tries to find out about him and asks the people in his village, they review him positively and he fixes their marriage.

Soon he finds about the villagers misleading him about Kathalingam, he is not a good guy as projected by them and is an alcoholic and also is engaged in an affair with Valli. It’s too late for him to change the scenario. Suryamurthy meets Mallika, Kath lingam’s sister with whom he falls in love with and her sister warns about Mallika but he ignores her.

She disowns Suryamurthy and his brother plan a wedding for her with an educated person but it gets cancelled and Kathalingam marries Valli. Thriller is left alone and the plot ends there. He continued directing movies which includes Poonthottam, Mitta Miraasu, Nillave Mugam Kaattu, etc. in 2011; Kalanjiyam came up with Karungali in which he was in the lead role.

The plot is about Kanimozhi who is a doctor by profession and she falls in love with Ravi when she witnesses his act when he tries to save someone’ life. She found out about his past and comes to know that he committed many murders and other illegal works. She thinks over her decision of being with him. On the other hand, Ravi is pleased in being with her since he could use her whenever he wants to fulfill his sexual desires.

She thinks she can treat him and so she marries him. Meanwhile Amudha, a patient who is unable to give birth visits Kani for the treatment. Ravi sexual desires increases and he wants to have sex with her to calm down his needs. He manages to manipulate her and convince that he knows the cure to her problem. Kalanjiyam received many nominations and awards for his films which were super hit.
