Lokesh Kumar is an Indian movie director/producer/writer, who was born on June 29th, 1989. He created an award-winning feature film titled My Son is Gay in the Tamil language. Lokesh also got the Best Debut Director award for his Tamil movie My Son is Gay in the 8th iteration of Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival 2018, organised at Delhi. Lokesh completed his school education in Kalashetra matriculation school.
Later, he pursued a diploma in mechanical engineering from SA Polytechnic college. Lokesh worked in the BPO industry for some years though he always wanted to get into the cinema industry. He got inspired through many social problems in the society and began making his short movies which allowed Lokesh to experiment and learn the art of filmmaking. After some years, he turned into a full-time filmmaker.
