The film starred Karthi, Rajkiran, and Lakshmi Menon in lead roles. To present Karthi as a village lad, the director asked the actor to have a long mustache and beard to match the character he was playing.

The film was an average success. In 2016, he wrote the story and directed 'Marudhu' that starred Vishal and Sir Divya in the lead roles. The movie was a big blockbuster. G. N. Anbu Chezhiyan produced the film, who is also a renowned film financier in Kollywood.
