S Krishnaswamy is counted among the legendary artists with exceptional skills. He is a well-known Indian documentary filmmaker and writer who is also the recipient of the Padmashri award given in 2009. He has given remarkable works to the industry, which are highly appreciated by people. His notable works include Indian Imprints, A Different Pilgrimage, and Tracking Indian Footmarks.

This personality was born on 29 July 1938 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He was raised in the former county only. He completed his schooling at one of the renowned schools of the state and later went to the United States to finish his further studies. He graduated to improve his communication skills from one of the prestigious Universities in the U.S. After that, he developed an interest in the filmmaking industry and decided to make his career in this field. It was easy to step into the world of movies as his father was already a widely-known personality in the film industry with an established company.

Soon, he introduced his firm, “Krishnaswamy Associates” in 1963, with a few documentary films along with a motto that stated, “We film to build bridges of brotherhood; we shoot to destroy walls of prejudice.” After his vast interest in movies, he attended Columbia University in the U.S. and learned Mass Communications with unique reference to documentary films. One of his accomplished works includes the movie Seva Sadanam, which was produced by him in his early years at Industry. Additionally, he has been eventually honored with numerous awards like the Honor Summus Award of the Watumull Foundation, Hawaii, the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005 at the U.S. International Film & Video Festival, Los Angeles, in 1987, the Padma Shri in 2009, and many other awards consisting National awards also for his commendable works
