Though his debut film ‘Kannal Neer’, failed at the box office, his next flick ‘Nayagan’ had a successful run for 100 days in many theatres. The actor even shifted his loyalty from DMK to ADMK. Currently, he is serving ADMK party. This artist was born in Sri Lanka (Kandy) in 1973, but shifted to Rameswaram in 1976 and had his childhood was spent there. He belongs to a politician family, as his grandfather Suba Thangavelan was a  minister for Housing and Slum Clearance. Rithesh was married to Jotheeswari in 2007, and they have a son.

J K Rithesh was born in 1973 in Kandy, Srilanka. He is an Indian actor who works in The South film industry and a politician (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagan). J K Ritesh was a DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) member of Parliament in 15th Lok Sabha from Ramanathapuram Constituency. He was born in Srilanka but later migrated to Rameswaram in 1976. His father works in agriculture sector while his mother is a homemaker. His grandfather was a  Minister of Housing and Slum clearance in Tamil Nadu. J K Rithesh has two elder sisters named Shanthi and Mani. In 2007, J K Rithesh was married to Jotheeswari and had a son name Arik Roshan, who was born in the year 2008.

Talking about his educational background, J K Rithesh holds a diploma degree in civil engineering from Mohamed Sathak Polytechnic College in Kilakarai due to some reason he couldn’t get his bachelor’s degree. In 2011, he was arrested in a case of land grabbing. Later, on 10th April 2014 he joined ADMK party as a primary member.

He also helps school children around entire Ramanathapuram district by providing them with school supplies such as notebook and stationeries. In 2015, he actively participated in Nadigar Sangam Election.

J K Rithesh is a South Indian actor and also a politician. He was born in 1973 in Kandy, Sri Lanka. Although, he was born in Sri Lanka he was born and bred up in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. J K Rithesh and his family moved to Rameswaram in the year 1976. His father worked in the agricultural sector and his mother was a housewife. Rithesh has two siblings- Mani and Shanthi. His grandfather, Suba Thangavelan, was also a politician and served as the minister for Accommodation control and Slum Clearance in Tamil Nadu. He has done a diploma course in Civil Engineering from Mohamed Sathak Polytechnic College in Kilakarai,  Ramanathapuram district, Tamil Nadu. He didn’t finish his B. Tech and quit college because of some personal issues.

J K Rithesh started his acting career with ‘Chinni Jayanth’ directed Tamil film, “Kaanal Neer” (2007). Rithesh played the main role of Rajavel in Kaanal Neer. Rajavel’s character was considered a bit manly and the film essays the story of friendship between Pari, Rajavel, and Sarathjith. Rithesh also performed some stunts in this film. This movie was a failure at the box-office. His next film was Nayagan (2008) in which he portrayed the role of an inspector, Guru. This film was a copy of the Tamil film, Vegam (2007). Surprisingly, this film received a good response and the film revolves around the story of a cop who wants to stop the increasing crime in the city. Rithesh’s role was appreciated in this movie. After this movie, he managed to get a role in “Thillu Mullu” and “Thalapathy”. Since he is a politician and remains busy most of the time, he couldn’t devote time to act in the movies.

He then did a small role in Tamil comedy film, Pen Singam (2010). Since then, he has disappeared from the South Indian industry. He is the M.P. of Ramanathapuram district.  He is a politician and earlier he was a part of the political party, Dravida Munnetra Khazagam (DMK). He also won the 15th Loksabha General Elections and received a total of 294,945 votes. Rithesh defeated his close rival, Satiyamoorthy of AIADMK, who only managed to get 225,730 votes. Rithesh is now a part of a political faction, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Khazagam (ADMK). He made it clear on 10 April, 2014 that he is now no longer a member of DMK party. A land grabbing case was also filed against him in 2011 after which he got arrested. Rithesh also participated in Nadigar Samgam Elections in the year 2015.

In 2007, Rithesh got married to Jotheeswari. Jotheeswari gave birth to a son in 2008 and they named him Arik Roshan.
