Aparna Pillai

Aparna Pillai or also known as Aparna is a renowned film actress, who predominantly appears in few Tamil films. She was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu in India. She started her career as a model of several popular brands and television commercials. Aparna was debuted as an actress in the Tamil action-romance film, "Pudhukottaiyilirundhu Saravanan", opposite Dhanush in the lead roles in the year 2004.

She played as an orphan, who was brought up by the church in Saravana Subbiah’s Tamil film, ABCD, in 2005. In the same year, Aparna made her debut in the Malayalam cinema as she starred, along with Manoj K Jayan, Nedumudi Venu, Balachandra Menon and Subair in the Malayalam film, December. In 2006, she was paired up with Navdeep in the Tamil film, Nenjil Jil Jil, which was directed by Selva. After this, she was not seen acting on the silver screen and just made a comeback as an unhappy wife in the 2009 Tamil film, Kannukulle.

She got married to Dr Bharani, an Orthopedic Surgeon, on June 29, 2011, and quit doing films. Dr Bharani is the son of the Kannappan, a renowned producer and distributor of films, who owns a theater in Poonamalee. Post marriage, she pursued her real passion, which is dancing and performed in several dance recitals. She even made a dance production, which was set in a Bharatanatyam style, called "Kadhal Aaghi Kasindhu". Aparna is a student of Guru K. J. Sarasa for Bharatanatyam and Srinivas for her Kathak dance. She also worked with Kavitha Ramu and made solo and group performances with her.

Aparna also entered television and produced several TV programs like Anjarai Petti. She also became the creative head and director of Aayirathil Oruvan, a reality game show, which was aired on Zee Tamizh. Aparna also acted in a short film entitled Eezha Kanavugal. Recently, she launched the Good Read Magazines, together with Lakshmi Ramakrishnan.
