Lalgudi Gopala Iyer Jayaraman (September 17, 1930, to April 22, 2013) was a Carnatic violinist, vocalist, composer in India. He's usually grouped with MS Gopalakrishnan and T. Krishnan as part of the trinity of Carnatic music. The Indian government awarded him Padma Bhushan in 2001. He inherited the love of Carnatic music from his father, V. R. Gopala Iyer. When he was 12, he began his music carrier as an accompanying violinist associated with Carnatic musicians before rising as a soloist. He has expanded the violin style by inventing new techniques designed to meetclassical music needsc in India and establish unique styles known as Lalgudi Bani. Jayaraman has configured several groups, tyrannos, Varnams and the dance composition, a mixture of Raga, Bhava, Rhythm, and Lyrical Beauty. The instrumental talent of Lalgudi is reaching the lyrical domain.

Ariyakudi Ramanuja Iyengar, Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavatar, M. D. Ramanathan, Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, G. N. Balasubramaniam, Madurai Mani Iyer, Alathur Brothers, Voleti Venkateswarulu, Nedunuri Krishnamurthy, K. V. Narayanaswamy, Maharajapuram Santhanam, D. K. Jayaraman, M.Balamuralikrishna, T. V. Sankaranarayanan, T. N. Seshagopalan and flute maestro N. Ramani were some of the greats, whom he accompanied. His biography, An Incurable Romantic, by Lakshmi Devnath released in 2013. It contains an introduction by Sitar player Ravi Shankar and includes a 70-year chart in the musical industry.
