Vasant Marimuthu

Vasant Marimuthu is an Indian actor, producer, and entrepreneur. He is the founder and chief executive officer of Teestra Lifestyle Private Limited. His place of birth is Secunderabad, Hyderabad in Telangana. He went to the JDIFT, Sardar Patel College, Secunderabad Tagores Home High School, to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in business, management, marketing, and related support services (1986 – 1990). He knows English, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, and Urdu languages. 

Vasant Marimuthu was a chief designer at Eersha Fashions in Hyderabad for over two years (Apr 1993 – Apr 1995). He developed new high-value products for all segments and started quality control systems at all levels of production. He also developed excellence in retailing fashion products and promoted new packaging concepts. Vasant Marimuthu was then a managing director at Indus Apparels in Hyderabad for over three years (May 1995 – Jan 1999). He established & developed the 'Indus' & 'Chameleon' brand of woven shirts.

He also developed a market base of over a hundred retail outlets. He introduced the concept of 'Factory Outlet Sales' and promoted 'Madras Checks' in the local market in a label. After that, Vasant Marimuthu became a product sourcing manager at Shigol Exports in Hyderabad for over a year (Jan 1999 – May 2000). He managed a product range of made-ups, woven, knitted garments, in-house sampling, and product development. He developed a wide base of fabric & garment suppliers.

Vasant Marimuthu worked as a general manager at BodyGlove Apparel (India) Ltd in Tirupur for over three years (Jun 2000 – Dec 2003). He launched the brand Bodyglove in the Indian market and established a strong distribution network in the domestic market. He was involved from concept to the final launch at the trade level. He was also involved in upgrading human resources development about fashion awareness among employees. Vasant Marimuthu then worked as head of retail at Classic Polo in Bangalore for almost four years (Jan 2005 – Nov 2008). He began the retail presence of Brand Classic Polo across India with eighty-eight stores during his stint. He was instrumental in expanding the product portfolio of the brand with casual and formal, trousers, shirts, and denim range. 

Vasant Marimuthu was the owner of Cornerstone Clothing Co in Bangalore for over five years (Nov 2008 – Jul 2014). He established the brand Canterbay with Bangalore as HQ. He also set up a chain of eighteen retail stores in Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu. He was the founder of Namosthe in Bangalore in 2012. He extended merchandise support to volunteer groups and was a part of the Namo Brigade. During the General elections in 2014, Vasant Marimuthu worked on innovative low-cost reach merchandise for Narendra Modi. He then became the CEO of Cream King in Bangalore (Jul 2014 – Jun 2015). In Bangalore, he set up a Dessert bar – a popular youth hangout in Malleswaram.

Vasant Marimuthu is also a founder of Canterbay Food & Beverages Pvt Ltd (Nov 2015 – Jun 201) and Amigos Videos (Feb 2017 – Nov 2019). He was the head of production at Evergreen Pictures in Chennai for over a year (Nov 2019 – Apr 2021). On behalf of the producer, he primarily oversees the work on the project and ensures the project is finished on time within budget, and to agreed artistic and technical standards. Since May 2020, he has been working as a director at Teestra Lifestyle Private Limited in Bangalore.
