Rajasekhar - Tamil

Rajasekar was a popular Indian film cinematographer, director and screenwriter who predominantly worked for Tamil movies. Apart from being a director and cinematographer, he has acted in several Tamil movies and the Tamil television industry, mainly known for “Saravanan Meenatchi.” He was married to Tara Begam and had no children. The artist died on 8th September 2019.

He started directing movies with Robert Ashirwatham as the director duo Robert Rajasekar. The actor turned director is still remembered for his youthful spirit and charm for the song in “Nizhalgal” named ‘Ithu Oru Pon Malai Pozhudhu.’ Rajasekar worked with Robert Ashirwatham as a cinematographer with his first project “Kudisai” and “Oru Thalai Ragam.” His first movie was “Nizhalgal,” directed by Bharathiraja, which gave him an acting platform.

He directed movies like “Palaivana Solai (1981),” Kalyanakkaalam (1982),” “Manasukkul Mathappu (1988),” “Chinna Poove Mella Pesu (1987),” “Dhooram Adhighamillai (1983),” “Paravaigal Palavitham (1988),” along with Robert Ashirwatham. His television work is seen in Mappilai (2019) and “Saravanan Meenatchi” aired on Vijay TV, “Kasthuri (2007-2010),” “Thendral (2009-2013)” and “Valli (2016-2019),” telecast on SUN TV and Sathya (2019) on Zee Tamil.

Rajasekar has acted in several movies as a supporting actor like “Poo Manam (1989),” “Nizhalgal (1980),” “Ilaya Raagam (1995),” “Gnana Paravai (1991),” “Saravanan Irukka Bayamen (2017)” and “Chinna Poove Mella Pesu (1987).” The movies ran well at the cinemas and were hit at the Box-Office.
