His father was related with India’s freedom movement and was a popular journalist. Rao was inclined towards sports and games rather than astrology during his youth. He had also won prizes for sports. Rao commenced his profession as a lecturer of English. This was in a college in Lucknow. His spiritual guru is Swami Paramananda. KN Rao practiced and taught astrology successfully.
