Haleem Khan

Haleem Khan is a versatile dancer in Kuchipudi form and even an actor in Telugu cinema. Born in Ongole of Andhra Pradesh, this talented artist really pulled many shows in abroad and in domestic cities through his dance art. Before establishing him as a talented dancer, Haleem had to face a lot of difficulties within his family. Haleem had been able to bring back the old-aged tradition of female impersonation on stage once again alive.

His contribution to the field of performing the art of Rupanurupam (female impersonation) cannot be ignored at all. His agile leaps in dance and his eye-movements convey the required emotion in Kuchipudi dance form. Right from his childhood days, dance had been a passion for him. The dancer had even performed in many Telugu movies.

His debut in Kollywood was in a film ‘Nuvvila’ (2011) with actor Harish. In 'Nuvvila' Haleem Khan has acted as a gay character that fall in love with Harish. As an actor, he has acted in seven or eight Telugu films. He was inspired to take dance in true spirit after watching films like ‘ Sankarabharanam Click to look into! >> Read More... ’, 'Swarnakamalam’ and ‘Sagara Sangamam’. He had learnt dance under his guru K V Subramanyam and later even had a classical dance teaching from Pasumarthi Nagamohini. The actor kept his dancing passion under wrap from his family for long.

His parents came to know about Haleem Khan’s talent and recognition in the field of classical dance only when TV crew reached his residence for an interview. Alongside dance, the actor even completed his MBA degree and had a job. But in 2010, he quit his job and fully concentrated in dance. He is also the founder of Deccan Kuchipudi Art Academy, Telangana.
