He has a degree in Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science Engineering from the Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology. He also attended the Mother Teresa Higher Secondary School. He kicked off his career as a software engineer in Delhi, but due to a sudden epiphany, he completely changed his line of work and got into direction. He moved to the UK to pursue the idea of filmmaking and earned his Master’s degree in Video Production and also Film Studies from the reputed Thames Valley University.

While he had been researching about the evolution of the concept of digital cinema, he felt inspired with the idea of Prayogam. His debut film was ‘Prayogam’, and quite like the name, it was an experimental Telugu film. He won a lot of critical acclaim for that movie. Prayogam was produced by Rathamma Balusu and was the first film to feature four different stories on four different screens, all in one film. The split-screen format had been greatly applauded by everyone and the audience kept wondering until the climax as to how the four scenes will intertwine.

It was a first of its kind since all the four scenes played simultaneously. The efforts were taken by Bhanu Prakash and the innovation that he showed fetched him a lot of critical acclaims. The narrative style was unique, but the presentation of the same somehow became a little shabby. Even though the other departments fell short in their expectations, Bhanu stood true to his mettle with his direction skills. For his valiant effort, he had been awarded the Nandi Award in the category for Best First Film of a Director.

He even played a cameo role as one of the students in the movie. After Prayogam, Bhanu ventured into a entirely different genre of films, which was basically a comedy. ‘ Chitram Bhalare Vichitram Click to look into! >> Read More... ’ was an entertainer that had ‘ Chandini Chandini is best known by her full name ChandiniSr >> Read More... ’ playing the lead. Chitram Bhalare Vichitram was thought to be a trendsetter in the film industry. The stakes were already high since the original was a massive success at the box office and it was expected from Bhanu to deliver a movie that is at least on par with the original, if not even more superb. Even though this film was a low budget film, once again Bhanu managed to stun everyone with his genius.

The movie made a mark for being interesting and the greatest novelty to have been introduced by the director was how the comedy was related to the story and had a connection to it. Even until the pre-climax, the cinema captured the audience with its hilarity. The build up of the film until the climax managed to be executed with finesse and the interval had been strategically placed, leaving the audience guessing as to what might follow.

The direction had been particularly commendable for how the art managed to give the appearance on the screen and also made the scene look real. The emotions of the movie were expressed using dark and gloomy colors on the screen, and the horror at the climax had been absolutely mind blowing. Bhanu is known for his distinct style of using cutting-edge technology and innovation.
