CH Narayan Moorthy, also known as Chitrapu Narayana Rao Chitrapu Narayana Rao was by profession an Indian >> Read More... , born as Chithrapu Narayana Murthy, was an Indian film director known for his significant contribution to the Telugu and Tamil cinema. He had received a Certificate of Merit for the movie, Edhir Paradhathu (1958) and for movie, Annaiyin Aanai (1962). He was born at Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh in 1913. His brother, Chitrapu Narasimha Rao, was also a film director. He started his film career with the help of his brother by assisting him in films like “ Seetha Kalyanam This is a Malayalam show aired on Asianet. The fir >> Read More... ”, “Sati Tulasi”, “Mohini Rukhmangadha” and “Krishna Jarasandha”. His directorial debut was “Bhakta Markandeya”, starring Vemuri Gaggayya and Sriranjani. The film had done well and established him as a director.

He further directed many movies like “Myravana”, “Bhakta Prahlada”, “Daksha Yagnam” and “ Bheeshma Click to look into! >> Read More... ” in both Telugu and Tamil languages. He also directed movies like Krishna Kuchela(1961), En Thangai(1952) and Bhakta Kabir(1944). During the same period, he wanted to direct a movie for AVM Productions to regain his financial status. He then started working on Bhakta Prahlada in 1965, for the first time in Eastman color. It was technically far superior to the Black and White version he had made 25 years earlier. D. V. Narasa Raju was the co-writer for the project. The film was a box office success. He also won the Nandi Award for the 1967 Telugu film “Bhakta Prahlada”.
