Born in Andhra Pradesh, India, Chaitanya Dantuluri is an Indian film director. Being the son of a famous writer, lyricist and film journalist, Dantuluri was always attracted to movies and soon began working as an assistant movie director for both Telugu and Tamil movies. In 2009, he directed his first film called ‘Baanam’.
The son of a former Naxalite dreams of being an IPS officer to protect his hometown from the terror of Shakti a local don. Released on September 16, 2009, this film did fairly well at the box office earning a rating of 6/10. In 2014, he directed his second feature film called Basanti a story about a group of college students who are taken as hostages by a terrorist group and locked up in their college.
