P. Pullaiah was born on May 2, 1911, at Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, India. He is a famous producer as well as director of the Telugu cinema industry. In 1945, he directed the show Maya Machhindra, which is a combination of six different movies of various languages of India. In 1962, he received Merit Certificate for the Best Feature Film for Telugu movie Siri Sampadalu. He also received the Filmfare Awards for the Best Film Award in 1955 for the movie Ardhangi. He married actress P. Santha Kumari in 1937. Pullaiah died in 1985.
