Rom Bhimana

Rom Bhimana is an Indian filmmaker who is well known for his works in Tollywood. Born on June 21, as Ram Gopal Bhimana, he is the only son of his parents. Rom Bhimana completed his school education at Noble Public School in Guntur and Mahaveer Memorial High School. After doing his B. Com in Computer Science, Rom Bhimana pursued his M.A Psychology from Annamalai University. Growing up, Rom Bhimana has always been a highly studious person who did extremely well in his school and college education and emerged as a topper regularly. Post-college, he prepared and attempted civil service examinations. Rom Bhimana cleared the preliminary round but unfortunately couldn’t pass through the mains. Upset over the fact, he moved to Ireland to do his Masters.

In 2007, Rom Bhimana graduated with his MBA degree from New Media Technology College, Dublin, Ireland. He worked in Ireland as a Computer Tech at IBM Research for a year and flew to London. Fascinated by movies and cinema since young, Rom decided to study direction and screenplay writing. He did his Diploma in Film Technology from the prestigious London Film Academy. During his stay in London, Rom has worked and acted in a couple of Hollywood films. Rom Bhimana returned to India in 2011 with the dreams of venturing into the film industry. In 2011, when short films were not a big thing, Rom released his first independent short film Aslplz. Within a few hours of uploading the short film, it became a viral hit by gathering more than fifty lakh views. The short film promoted his brand value and earned him several Best Short film awards, including Dasari Talent Award and Hyderabad Short Film Festival 2011.

After the success of Asl Plz, Rom directed his first feature film in 2014. Hum tum, a Telugu romantic film, which hit the screens on 14th February 2014. The movie received a decent response upon release. Post Hum Tum, Rom Bhimana took a break for a couple of years to prepare a script and made a comeback in the year 2017. Being a hardcore action film lover, Rom Bhimana wrote and directed his next picture in the action genre. Rom employed high technical aspects to the fighting scenes and had an impressive outcome. Upon release, the critics regard the movie as one of the best action films of the year 2017, and the whole crew won a lot of praise. Further, it got dubbed and released in Tamil. Apart from studies and filmmaking, Rom Bhimana enjoys drawing. His life had always revolved around art, as his father is a photographer. As a director, Rom has bagged several accolades. Being a three Master’s degree holder and receiving a handful of pay, it was a tough decision to leave all that and to pursue cinema. But it was only for a brief span, as he made it real quick to establish himself in the industry.
