DJ Vinayak^A is an Indian DJ and Producer. His full name is Vinayak Karthikayan. He belongs from the ancient town and land of Lord Buddha, Patli Putra. His journey as a musician and instrumentalist began at a very early age. He was well-equipped in playing guitar, table, and harmonium. Melody and rhythm are rooted in his soul as he grew up in an Indian classical atmosphere. As he grew up, he decided to blend his knowledge in classical music with the new-age technology and later became a Disc Jockey (DJ). He studied DJ’ing n Bangalore and then moved to Mumbai where he became an assistant DJ at a pub, from where he also worked in the same position for one and a half years.

DJ Vinayak officially started working as a DJ at The Leela Palace in Bangalore. He continued his job for six months. He worked long hours and tried to learn the concept of sound and production. However, feeling a lack of knowledge, he moved to Chennai to pursue his diploma in Audio Engineering at SAE Institute in Chennai, India. After the completion of his course, he wasn’t sure about DJing as a career as there are numerous DJs and it’s a struggle to make a mark in the same industry. For a few years, Vinayak took a break and tried to absorb the environment while he analyzed his career choice. To ensure that he is the best in whatever he does, Vinayak bought his equipment and locked himself in a studio for six years.

He put all his effort to study and skill to use. His goal was to experiment with numerous waves of sounds and music. He created and recorded all his music, compile it to fit in as a story. Vinayak has recorded several abstract elements and make some fillers and grooves. His passion for progressive house became more intense as he continued to experiment music on a daily basis. Eventually, he finally concluded a track, but somehow, it did not satisfy him. He felt that he lacks with a more compact production and a powerful emotional connection. He then created an all new vibe and incorporates it with deep bass lines, heavy strings, abstract melodies, and funky grooves.

In November 2008, he produced his first track entitled What’s Stopping You under Baroque Records UK, which was launched in January 2009. His first release earned an immense support from prominent stars like Eric Prydz. His track was included on the Top 100 for three weeks on the top DJ Charts. DJ Vinayak^A has made remixes for Larry Powers, Joel Armstrong, Evren Ulusoy, John Digweed, Herman Cattaneo, Oliver Klein, Cid Inc, etc. He has also given an opportunity to work for the Tamil film, Onai Pol Orruvan, which stars Kamal Hassan and his daughter, Shruti Hassan.
