Rajeev Saluri

Tollywood actor Rajeev Saluri is the son of music composer Koti. He made his acting debut with film ‘ Notebook Click to look into! >> Read More... ’ (2007). He was cast opposite Gayathri in the movie. The film had a tragic end and the actor Rajeev Saluri had to utilize the film as a launch pad. Rajeev was a meritorious student which his father Koti too has acknowledged many times. Plus point of Rajeev in his youth days was his strong determination to achieve perfection in whatever he did. It was the sheer coincidence when director Chandu noticed the actor Rajeev in a mall in Hyderabad and offered him the role in ‘Notebook’ and signed him on dotted lines.

After this movie, he took a break as his father wanted his son to complete his studies first. Thus Rajeev completed his graduation in engineering. Later he found that acting was still his dream and he followed up with movies like ‘Aakasame Haddhu’ (2011) and ‘Chinni Chinni Aasa’ (2013) directed by the veteran Singeetham Srinivasa Rao. These two movies were not a huge box office puller but the actor received critical acclaim upon releases of these two movies. His next movie was ‘Ori Devudoy’ where he played the role of the chief executive officer of an advertisement agency. It was for this movie that his father Koti had composed music.

Soon the actor took a different path in the film business. He produced a film ‘Parugo Parugu’ in partnership with actor Manotej which was directed by Sandeep. The film had Preethi Rana as the heroine. It may be noted that his cousin brother Munish is also an actor but he tried his luck in Tamil movies while Rajeev wanted to climb the ladder of success in Telugu film industry. Both Munish and Rajeev are grandsons of music maestro S. Rajeshwara Rao.
