Anjuman was born in Bahawalpur, Punjab, on 24 July 1955. She was brought up in Multan and migrated to Lahore. She is a successful Punjabi heroine, Pakistani film actress and singer. Her sister, Gori, is also an actress. Her debut acting was in the Urdu film Soorath (1973). Her first superhit film was Waadey Ki Zanjeer. She has a 20-year career journey and appeared in more than 300 films. She also played leading roles in the Pakistani action and musical film Sher Khan and Pakistani action film Chan Varyam and supporting roles in the romantic musical Punjabi Film Sala Sahib.

She continued acting in various hit films and took a break after the 1995 Punjabi film Khon Da Hisab, a hit in Pakistan. She came back in 1999 in the superhit film Chaudhrani. In 2000, she acted in another Punjabi film Peengan. Her last film was Jatti Da Wair, also in 2000. She married Mobin Malik, an income tax commissioner, and had three children, Zeeshan, Adnan, and Iman.

In 2013, her husband died. She remarried in 2019 to Waseem Lucky Ali. Her main hobbies are reading books and traveling. Anjuman has won many awards and recognition for her performance. She has won the Best Actress Nigar Award in the year 1981, 1982, 1986 and 1990. In 1999, Anjuman won the Special Nigar Award. She has also won the 21st Lux Style Awards - Chairperson’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022 and the award by the Government of Pakistan - Pride of Performance Award in 2023.
